Bodylift

Dramatic weight loss, massive weight fluctuation or simply natural aging frequently results in sagging skin in areas all the way around your waistline (midsection). LOWER body lift surgery tightens, improves and sculpts your entire midsection in a circumferential fashion, with some potential added improvements of your buttocks, outer thighs, frontal thighs, and hips as well. An incision is made all the way around the middle of your body, similar to a belt.  That is why this procedure is also sometimes called a “BELT LIPECTOMY”. The incision is literally made a full 360 degrees around your entire midsection. Loose skin that looks cosmetically displeasing is removed to tighten the problem areas. The goal is to obtain improvement in your appearance. A lower body lift is most effective if you are near your ideal weight (near normal Body Mass Index) and your weight has stabilized for at least six months. Lower body lift surgery may precede or follow an UPPER body lift procedure. Body lift surgery is a major body contouring procedure that requires several days of hospitalization immediately afterwards.

Several variations of this surgical approach exist. Dr. Hayduke varies his incision design based on the unique anatomy and cosmetic desires of his patient.

WHO SHOULD CONSIDER A LOWER BODY LIFT

  • If you have had dramatic weight loss due to bariatric surgery or dieting.
  • If you have relatively thin layers of fat below the skin in your midsection, including the hip, thigh, abdomen and buttock areas.
  • If overhanging skin in your lower body and midsection restricts your mobility and/or causes chafing, rashes or infection.
  • If you are distressed by the appearance of sagging skin in your entire midsection and lower body.

During your private consultation with Dr. Hayduke, your cosmetic goals will be carefully considered and a customized body lift plan will be created just for you. Body lift surgery is a major procedure that should be performed by a board certified plastic surgeon in a fully accredited hospital operating room. Afterwards, patients should be admitted to the hospital for several days of post surgical aftercare. Dr. Hayduke feels this  would provide the best environment for proper and safe recovery from your lower body lift.
